Online MAB Meetup | Media Architecture in the University Context

Online MAB Meetup | Media Architecture in the University Context

Date: 11 July, 2020
Time: 14:00 – 15:30 CET
Online Meetup via Zoom

Media architecture has made its way into teaching and research at universities. This includes the design of media content at art academies, the architectural integration into urban space, technical implementation, and software development in the disciplines of event technology or computer science. In addition, some universities have been able to install media facades, often as part of a research project. During the integration phase as well in the long term, they all face completely different challenges, such as maintenance, curating of content, or changing responsibilities after the completion of a project. So how do you meet such challenges in a university context and what solutions have been already found? And ultimately how to teach and research this transdisciplinary field?

Participants:
– Marius Hoggenmüller (University of Sydney)
– Associate Professor Ava Fatah gen. Schieck (The Bartlett School of Architecture)
– Waldemar Jenek (Queensland University of Technology)
– Prof. Dave Colangelo (Ryerson University)
– Dr. Patrick Tobias Fischer (fischerkinder)
