The MAB20 joined forces with VOLUME magazine to publish V59 – Futures Implied, fresh off the printing press!
When brought into the city, no technology is a neutral enabler, a mere decoration, or just a marketplace of supply&demand. Urban technologies are built upon spoken and unspoken assumptions about urban life, each with peculiar implications for social relations and the natural ecosystem.
It is time for the discipline of media architecture to get under its own skin, and address the implied futures of new technologies. In V59 – Futures Implied we invited people that showed relentlessly the courage to look behind the facade.
Check out below the editorial written by Michiel de Lange, Frank Suurenbroek, Nanna Verhoeff, Martijn de Waal – executive committee & general chair of MAB20 and other articles featured in V59 – Futures Implied.
