Geleyn Meijer is member of the Board and Rector of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Prior to this position he was Dean of the faculty Digital Media & Creative Industries at the same University. He drives the digital renewal programs in the University. Geleyn created the Amsterdam Creative Industries Network, bringing academic and applied science scholars together with leading industries and start-ups. He initiated the Digital Society School, an initiative to renew education and educate digital talent. He developed the open innovation network for the Creative Industries as chairman of the National Knowledge & Innovation Network CLICKNL. He directed, together with academic colleagues from Amsterdam, Delft and Twente, the 100M€ ICT research programme COMMIT, fostering open innovation between academics and industries.
Geleyn received his PhD in Robotics and Computer Science at the University of Amsterdam in 1991. He was partner and managing director at Logica Management Consulting (now CGI) from 1993 to 2011.
