Description
You+Pea is the architectural design studio of Sandra Youkhana and Luke Caspar Pearson. Their work explores the integration of videogame technologies into architectural design, leading conversations on how games can engage new participants in the design of cities. They have taught and lectured on the subject worldwide. You+Pea’s work operates between the design of architectural interventions and virtual worlds, alongside developing critical theory that underpins their connection. Sandra and Luke established and lead the Videogame Urbanism studio at the Bartlett School of Architecture, where they promote the use of game technologies in architectural education. You+Pea draws inspiration from speculative architecture of the past, producing new forms of architectural practice that result in the design of virtual, interactive game spaces to provoke conversations about the real world.
After their keynote lecture, they will engage in conversation with the winners of INDESEM 2021, a student prize for designing with data at the TU Delft, who will shortly present their winning ideas. The jury of INDESEM 2021 (consisting of members from MVRDV, UNStudio, OMA and ZJA) will announce the winners in early june.

Kay Oosterman
At school Kay was in doubt if he was to go to art school or study physics. Architecture proved to be a perfect combination of these interests. And more, as an architect you are caught up in the middle of society, and that attracted him as well. The most inspiring aspect of working as an architect for him is the opportunity to work with people from all kinds of disciplines.
